Description

Description

Pasha Angelina, a land worker and a member of the Bolshevik Party, organized in 1933 the first all-female tractor driver group, which that same year managed to exceed the production norm by 129%, coming first in the entire region.

Pasha was awarded the title of "Hero of Socialist Labor" twice and was elected a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In response to the questions of an American questionnaire that would be used by the editors of the World Biographical Encyclopedia to include her name in the category "distinguished people from all countries," Pasha noted that the most fundamental and essential question was missing, namely what were the conditions that enabled her, a former illiterate land worker, to become a deputy of the Supreme Soviet.

Thus, in her written response, she concludes that the main point is not about herself, that she was not an exception to the rule, but that she emerged alongside her people, becoming a heroine along with the entirety of her heroic people.

Overall, this is a book that vividly illustrates the course of socialist construction in the USSR and how it contributed to the victory of the Soviet people over fascism in the Great Patriotic War.
