WARNING. It does not come with an am3/am4 base for the motherboard.

Purchased to replace the factory cooler on an immortal 6-core FX processor from the 11th decade!! In a desktop with an rx560 gpu and 16gb ram for gaming, as well as plenty of browsing/streaming, it cools very well. It only makes noise when it reaches 1700+ RPM. However, it is not bothersome, at least it doesn't bother me. You get what you pay for, it cost 8 euros. It is also PWM unlike other coolers in the same price range, so you can "play" with its speeds in the BIOS for a more silent profile.
16-20°C idle and 48-52°C max (e.g. WoT at max settings) is great, in a room with 22-25 degrees and a case from the good old Elite series by coolermaster with good airflow.

Finally, I did not use the thermal paste that comes with it. I don't know how good it is.
I have been using PK-3 for years in my builds and I am very satisfied with the results.

It fit in a Mini-ATX case 170mm wide, on an AMD FX-4300 processor. In simple tasks like video playback/browsing, the temperature is 37°C. It also lowered the temperature by 10 degrees in tasks where the CPU is used at 100% (53°C), while the old stock cooler would reach temperatures of 63°C even at full speed 3500rpm. Although in terms of cooling this Xilence is super, at full speed keep in mind it is not silent. That is, if in the BIOS you have just selected a profile and the advanced options are default... then when the processor demands air during a demanding task, the fan spins at 2500-2700rpm and makes noise. So I have set a silent mode profile, and in advanced mode I have set the CPU fan to silent and turbo mode for the side fans (silent noiseblocker 1200rpm 13db). Due to the small size of the case, quite a bit of air from the side fans also feeds the CPU. So be careful if you do not have sufficient and silent cooling on the case's side fans and if you are not familiar with BIOS settings or the speedfan program, do not get this cooler but go for a quieter option. Of course, options are limited for AM3 and AM3+ and there is always the space issue in old cases. For me, this covered all parameters, i.e. low profile so there is clearance from the side fans, backplate mounting on the CPU and not sideways, 9mm fan so there was no space issue with the RAM on the right, "silent" when operating up to ~2000rpm, screw-mounted fan on the cooler which makes it easy to remove for cleaning. I have no opinion on whether installation is easy, nor if the stock paste is good as a better quality one was used.

edit: 2/12/2025... After almost 6 years, the fan bearings broke and it makes noise. The positive is that the cooler still remains at a low price, I ordered a new one to replace the fan.
