Description

Description

This international edition is the most up-to-date article-by-article interpretation of the "Succession Regulation," being published for the first time in English by Greek authors, as part of a collaboration between the Legal Library and the publishing houses C.H. Beck, Hart, and Nomos.

The Regulation (EU) 650/2012 on Succession, dated July 4, 2012, is a fundamental and ambitious regulation, as its 84 articles cover almost all aspects of international succession law. Specifically, it regulates matters of international jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition and enforcement of judgments, and cooperation between the authorities of member states. The "Succession Regulation" is also innovative regarding the solutions it establishes (proessio juris, escape clause mechanism, etc.). Practically significant is the European inheritance certificate.
