Description & Specifications

It is usually believed that by critically approaching a poetic text, we have a singular purpose or a set of individual purposes that constitute organic parts of a single goal. This one-directional endeavor, which we have legitimized under the name interpretation, constitutes a fundamental critical delusion that has developed into a bias against the literary work.

This happens because unity in terms of purpose, methodology, and generally the logic that should characterize the critical endeavor is ultimately sought - and imposed - on the work that becomes the subject of criticism. For these reasons, the interpreter of literature should occasionally detoxify interpretively and allow themselves to engage in exercises that undermine the principle of unity of the literary work.

The fruits of this awareness are the studies in this volume, which function as experiments in interpretative detoxification, managing - or not avoiding - to arrive at an interpretative conclusion regarding the work of some of the most important representatives of our poetic tradition.
