The Knipex CoBolt diagonal cutter has a transmission mechanism that increases leverage, requiring less force when cutting. The recess near the joint makes it easier to cut thicker wires and fixing screws for suspended ceilings, while the gripping surfaces below the joint allow wires with a cross-section of 1.0 mm to be gripped and pulled.

It is made of electric vanadium steel, forged, oiled and heat-treated. The cutting edges are individually induction-hardened to a hardness of approximately 62 HRC, and the handles have a plastic coating.
