Description & Specifications

The "Numbers" is the fourth book of the Old Testament. Its name comes from the Greek translation of the Septuagint (LXX) due to the censuses and other enumerations contained within it. In Hebrew, the title of the book is "In the Desert" (bemidbar).

The book of "Numbers" can be divided into the following sections: 1. Organization of Israel before its departure from Sinai (1:1 - 10:10). 2. The journey in the desert: From Sinai to the plains of Moab (10:11 - 21:35). 3. In the plains of Moab: Preparation for entry into the Land (22:1 - 36:13).

"All the stories in the book of Numbers serve as a type of the lives of the faithful of all times. The life of every believer resembles the journey of the Israelites from Egypt to the Promised Land. Egypt represents the life of slavery to passions, and the Promised Land is the Kingdom of Heaven towards which we, the Church, the new Israel, are journeying."
