I have had it for a month and I am really satisfied. You drink coffee and you don't want to drink from outside again. The instructions state not to compress the coffee because the filter base has an optimized compression system - this is not true. Press the coffee because otherwise you won't see any results. As for the negatives, the plastic portafilter is one of them, but I knew that when I bought it.

The machine is very good. But.... The portafilter is a joke. Plastic on the bottom. Not even in Chinese... Of course, I immediately removed the pressure mechanism inside. Also, there wasn't even a plastic tamper included just for fun... Only a coffee doser... They could have charged 2 more euros... I rushed to order a 58mm tamper assuming that all gaggia machines in this category would have a 58mm group. Unfortunately, this one has a smaller one... its basket is 53mm. If I knew that, I wouldn't have bought it... Obviously, this will also be a problem in finding a bottomless portafilter for this machine... I hope I find something...

I have had it since December 2014 and have made countless coffees for myself, my father, and my wife. The only thing I have changed (as the plastic handle broke) was the knob that we fill with coffee powder, as one day it stayed in my hand due to excessive tightening (incorrect handling), and I bought a new one for around 50 or 60€ if I remember correctly.

At the point where it releases hot water (where the knob attaches), a small round plate inside came off (like a chip), but it still releases water normally and somewhat inconsistently, so it doesn't change anything.

So I continue to make amazing cold or hot coffees, and it seems like I will continue to do so for a while.

I recommend using Lavazza ORO (gold) coffee. You will remember me.

Edit * I am coming back after 6.5 years of use. During this time, nothing has changed from what I have written except for the knob handle that holds the coffee, which broke and was replaced twice. The cost is around 50€, and this happened 2.5 years ago, but even today, on 11/05/2021 as I am writing to you. I don't know if this time I will find a semi-official replacement, but I consider it an expensive replacement, and it shouldn't break under the normal pressure I apply to tighten the closure and make coffee with froth. It's up to you to judge...

**EDIT In the end, the replacement only changes the plastic handle for 6€ plus 2€ for shipping from Northern Greece, where it came from. It's 2022, and it still gives me coffee like the first day.

My conclusion is that the machine is worth it if a newer model hasn't been released.

We had it in the family for over 2 years and that's why I bought it too.
Even if you have no idea about coffee, it always does its job when we talk about HOME use. If someone deals with it more, the result is almost professional.
    Very good value for money.

The machine is very good, you just have to figure out which coffee suits you. I tried various ones and ended up with PORTIOLI. When experimenting, whether you want it strong or light, you will be satisfied with this purchase!
