Description

Description

Since 1979, the newspaper "Le Monde" has been publishing a weekly discussion with personalities from the field of culture.

The editor of this volume, Christian Delacampagne, with his studies in philosophy and himself a well-known writer and columnist for "Le Monde", collected interviews with famous philosophers - many of whom are no longer alive - to ask them about issues that remain relevant: about our melancholic inability to give meaning to our lives, about violence as a constituent element of human culture, about faith, eternal questioning, and the mission of intellectuals.

Twenty-one philosophers thus presented their work, exposed their most important ideas, and developed their reflections on the world today.

By anthologizing these discussions, we somehow reconstruct, for anyone interested, the most important philosophical currents of France, giving each representative the opportunity to express themselves clearly.
