They are used to cover and protect intravenous catheter sites, acute and chronic wounds, skin, feeding tubes, and superficial partial-thickness burns. They can also cover minor abrasions, superficial Stage I or II pressure ulcers, skin graft donor sites, and especially closed, clean surgical wounds, maintaining a moist environment for healing. They are also used as protective eye covers during surgery and after tattoos.
