Description

Description

This book provides a comprehensive description of the ancient Greek language. Its content (phonetic concepts, phonology, typology, etymology) is richer and more detailed than that of other similar books, as it aims to offer more information to scholars.

Only a broader and deeper understanding of the ancient Greek language will give them the means to recognize the unity and homogeneity of the grammatical type and to find the enlightening answers to multiple questions of a grammatical, lexical, and orthographic nature for the modern Greek language.

As I deemed that the reader often needs historical information to better imprint certain irregular grammatical phenomena, these are provided as clarifications or notes. Before the main part of the Grammar, introductory clarifications are presented with some essential elements regarding how language (speech) is formed in a person's mouth.

There is also a brief discussion of certain grammatical concepts. An important feature of the book is the different approach to grammatical phenomena and the presentation of examples with a variety of cases from all parts of speech.

It would perhaps not be an exaggeration to say that a true innovation of the book is the detailed examination of other grammatical phenomena, which by other authors are either merely mentioned in notes and footnotes or completely omitted as irrelevant.
