Description

Description

Today’s Hellenism must survive not only "to preserve our racial seed," but primarily because it is the only remaining free voice of Orthodoxy and the bearer of its universal mission.

However, in order for Hellenism to continue this mission, it must know and embody its Greek Orthodox roots. Our Church, despite the inevitable inconsistencies of some of its representatives, maintains the healthy and fertile elements of our national identity, keeping it free from any tendency of chauvinism and racialism.

In the advancing homogenization of our times, it preserves Hellenism in those elements that were adopted by Orthodoxy.

It is therefore understandable why the late Stephen Runciman called on the Greeks to maintain their Orthodox identity in order to have a future and cultural presence in the 21st century.
