In general, the three-point body splint with sternum adjustment is suitable for the conservative treatment of compression fractures of the body. Osteoporotic vertebral fractures are common and are mainly due to osteoporosis. Almost 2/3 of these remain undiagnosed and are attributed to pain due to muscle spasm or pain of spondylarthritis.
The type of vertebral body fracture caused by osteoporosis is called a compression fracture, where the vertebra loses 15-20% of its height. The compression occurs at the front part and the vertebra acquires a wedge shape. The treatment includes taking analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs, progressive mobilization, and supporting the torso with a splint.
