In most of Strindberg's works, women are the executioners; however, Miss Julie, the young daughter of the count, becomes the victim of her charming servant Jean, and the male gender seems to take its revenge.
The short one-act play The Strongest is a monologue of a married woman to her rival and her husband's mistress, in which this eternal struggle of man is described with acumen, the love response between his self as 'judge' and his self as 'defendant.'
