Description

This book has been received with particular affection since its first edition, and this fact has nurtured within us a sense of high responsibility for its theological and literary formulation.

We have therefore tried to make its theological meanings more understandable, and we have translated many patristic texts into Modern Greek, despite the fact that the clarity and beauty of the original cannot be replaced. There have also been certain additions and omissions in the text of the Comments, and several modifications to their overall form.

Thus, after 24 years, it is being released in a new edition, significantly improved. We express from this position a humble wish: May this current edition contribute to a more profound understanding and participation in the Divine Liturgy.

Let us all experientially understand the miracle of the Mysteries, what it truly is, why it was given, and what the benefit of it is: That is, the Divine Liturgy is the mystery of God's love, that it was given because He loved us first, and that we gain the benefit of becoming partakers of Christ and images of His love.

May the sense of His love inspire us to love Him back with all our hearts.
