Which iPhone should I get?
See their differences & choose the best for your needs!
Apple, like almost every major company in the Smartphone space, announces its new models each year, which feature better characteristics with a refreshed appearance. At the same time, previous models continue to be available, usually at reduced prices, making them reasonable and advantageous choices. Understanding that this can cause confusion and doubt, we will try to clarify the landscape of choosing your future Apple device. In this article, we will refer to various iPhone models, from the latest and most advanced iPhone 15 to the iPhone 11.
iPhone 15
If you want the best and price is not a concern for you, then obviously the iPhone 15 is the choice you are looking for.
The new iPhone lineup consists of 4 different options:
- iPhone 15
- iPhone 15 Plus
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
Features
iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max
The premium choices of the new series. They feature the A17 Pro Bionic processor with 20% better graphics performance and 4x faster Ray Tracing compared to the A16 of the standard iPhone 15. Additionally, the Type-C port offers transfer speeds up to 20 times faster compared to the standard iPhone 15.
They are made from titanium alloy and feature a side Action button that can perform one of many tasks, such as muting the phone, opening an app, or turning on the flashlight, depending on what you have set.
The Dynamic island notch gives the user easier access to active apps and live activities. The brightness of the always-on display is very high, at 2000 nits, the same as that of the standard iPhone 15/15 Plus. The refresh rate of the Promotion display is 120Hz as is typically found in the Pro models of Apple's series, providing excellent smoothness and a pleasant visual experience.
Regarding the camera, the most significant feature compared to the iPhone 15/15 Plus is the telephoto lens. The iPhone 15 Pro uses a 3x 12MP telephoto lens, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max respectively features a 5x 12MP telephoto lens.
The iPhone 15 Pro is characterized by an upgraded main camera with a larger sensor than the iPhone 14 Pro. With the iPhone 15 Pro, you can change the focal length of the camera, choosing between 24, 28, or 25 mm. There is also the ability to automatically detect a subject, switching the camera mode to portrait.
Finally, you can change the subject of a photo after taking it. If there are two faces in a photo, the iPhone 15 Pro can decide who should be in the foreground and who in the background.
Who it is for:
For those who do not settle for anything less than the best available. The luxurious titanium construction, the extremely smooth 120Hz display combined with the capabilities of the new A17 processor that will elevate gaming to unprecedented levels, the data transfer speeds and the incredible cameras will make you forget everything you knew and give you the satisfaction and joy of owning the best available.
iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max
If you don't like "exaggerations" then...
iPhone 15/15 Plus
The most affordable options in the new lineup. They feature the A16 processor with a GPU that is up to 40% faster than the one in the iPhone 12 and the one that powered last year’s premium models, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro MAX.
They are made from 75% recycled aluminum in the casing and feature a mute switch on the side. They use USB-C instead of the classic Lightning port, allowing reverse wired charging for certain accessories as well as more convenient charging, since they are now compatible with a wide range of Type-C chargers and cables.
The Dynamic island notch, which we saw on the iPhone 14 Pro models, is now also available on these specific versions. This gives the user easier access to active apps and live activities.
The 60Hz display brightness is very high, at 2000 nits, a feature that is the same on the Pro/Pro Max models.
The 48MP camera is here, enhanced to confirm and elevate the quality of photos and video captured by an iPhone. In addition, it is capable of 4x resolution and 2x Telephoto without having a third camera for the latter feature.
Who it is for:
For those who want the best Apple model without simultaneously demanding the luxury of a Pro or a Pro MAX. It would also be a good choice for those coming from older models (iPhone SE 2/iPhone X/iPhone 11) and want to upgrade their device.
iPhone 15/15 Plus
What You Will Miss If You Choose an iPhone 15/15 Plus Compared to an iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max
1. The Build Material. Titanium is lighter, more rigid, and more resistant to corrosion and extreme temperatures. Additionally, it feels more premium in the hand.
2. The Action Button. This specific button can do much more compared to a simple Mute Button. (Accessibility/Shortcuts/Silent Mode/Camera/Flashlight/Focus/Magnifier/Translate/Voice Memos)
3. Always-on/ProMotion 120Hz Display. They say that once you use a 120Hz display, you never go back to 60Hz. Myth or reality, the fact is that a 120Hz display provides an amazing experience compared to others with a lower refresh rate.
4. Cameras. The telephoto lens on the Pro and Pro Max with 3x and 5x respectively, makes a difference in high-definition zoom.
iPhone 14
In the same logic as the iPhone 15. The available models are four:
- iPhone 14
- iPhone 14 Plus
- iPhone 14 Pro
- iPhone 14 Pro Max
iPhone 14 Pro/14 Pro MAX
- Super Retina XDR display with Always-On and ProMotion
- Brightness adjustment up to 2000 nits
- Dynamic Island
- Photonic Engine
- Main 48MP camera with quad-pixel sensor and second-generation sensor-shift optical image stabilization
- Cinematic mode shoots in 4K HDR at 24 or 30 fps
- A16 Bionic processor with 6 cores and a 5-core GPU with 50 percent more memory bandwidth, ideal for games and applications
- 23 hours of video playback
Differences compared to the corresponding new iPhone 15 Pro/Pro MAX:
- It is made of stainless steel compared to the titanium of the iPhone 15 Pro
- Processor A16, approximately 20% inferior to the A17 of the iPhone 15 Pro, especially in the Gaming sector
- It features a Mute Button compared to the Action Button of the iPhone 15 Pro
- Lightning port compared to the USB-C of the iPhone 15 Pro
- USB 2.0 versus USB 3.0 which translates to 20% higher speed for the iPhone 15 Pro
- WiFi 6 versus WiFi 6E
- Longer charging time compared to the new Qi 2 of the iPhone 15 Pro
- Excellent cameras but overall less capable compared to those of the iPhone 15 Pro.
iPhone 14 Pro/14 Pro Max
What is the most cost-effective choice?
If you already own the iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, I would suggest waiting for the next model. The differences might be significant, possibly greater than what Apple has accustomed us to in recent years, but the iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max remain very powerful devices that meet your needs.
If it's an upgrade from an older model, since the prices are still more or less the same, obviously the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max is the more logical choice.
iPhone 14/14 Plus
- Super Retina XDR OLED Display
- A15 Bionic Processor with 5-core GPU
- 20 hours of video playback
- Cinematic mode with Action Mode for stability and 4K Video at 24 fps
The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus have a notch at the top of the screen that houses the TrueDepth camera. They include Super Retina XDR OLED displays with maximum brightness of 1200 nits, contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, support for Dolby Vision and True Tone.
The iPhone 14 models are IP68 water-resistant, allowing them to withstand depths of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes.
They use the same A15 chip that was in the iPhone 13 Pro models, with a new internal design that allows for better thermal performance.
They incorporate a 12-megapixel wide camera that features a larger sensor, ƒ/1.5 aperture, and larger 1.9 μm pixels for improved low-light performance, as well as optical image stabilization. There is also a new TrueDepth camera with an ƒ/1.9 aperture, while the Ultra Wide lens has been improved with the Photonic Engine that enhances low-light photography across all the cameras of the iPhone 14.

- The iPhone 15 has a new main camera with 48MP, which is notably better than the 12MP capture in the iPhone 14
- USB-C versus Lightning
iPhone 13
It is worth mentioning the plain iPhone 13 as it remains attractive and worthwhile. Let us not forget that the timelessness of an iPhone goes beyond time, a characteristic that few companies in the world are known for.
Getting an iPhone 13 right now remains a smart move, mainly because it is significantly more affordable than the newer iPhone 15 and iPhone 14. The iPhone 13 has almost the same hardware as the iPhone 14.
There is a lot to love about the iPhone 13, which incorporates most of the features of the iPhone 14. It offers the same 6.1-inch Super Retina OLED display, IP68 dust and water resistance, tough Ceramic Shield glass, the latest iOS support, Face ID, good battery life, and much more.
It may be missing features such as Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection, but if those are not so important to you, then consider it!
Who is the iPhone 13 for?
The iPhone 13 is almost in the middle of Apple's evolutionary path in recent years. It is neither one of the latest generation models, nor a 5-year-old model. It would be a good choice for the user who is interested in technology and does not want to fall too far behind the latest models but cannot afford to spend too much. If we could compare this user to a Gamer, we would say that it is a Casual Gamer who is indeed involved in Gaming but is not the Hardcore Gamer who always wants the best.

The last of the...minicans? #iPhone 13 mini
The 5.4" mini version of the iPhone 13. The most important criterion for choosing it? The size, of course. If you need one of the nearly extinct compact 5.4" phones, fitting easily in the palm of your hand and with Apple's signature, then this is the phone you're looking for. As for the features? The same as the iPhone 13 but in mini size!
The most value for money; To iPhone 11!
Is the iPhone 11 worth it in 2023?
The iPhone 11 remains impressive even 4 years after its initial release, thanks to its plethora of innovative features. Equipped with the excellent A13 Bionic chip, the iPhone 11 offers outstanding performance, ensuring flawless multitasking, smooth app launches, and a good gaming experience.
The dual camera of the iPhone 11 allows users to capture fantastic photos and videos. With a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, users can enjoy a versatile photography experience. Despite the latest advancements in camera technology in newer iPhone models, the iPhone 11's camera remains excellent.
The vibrant LCD Retina display of the iPhone 11 provides sharp graphics and vivid colors. While the latest models may be equipped with advanced display technologies like OLED or ProMotion, the iPhone 11's Retina display offers an excellent viewing experience.
In terms of build quality and design, the iPhone 11 features a durable glass and aluminum construction, maintaining its visual appeal even though newer models with different design characteristics and materials have been released.
Who is the iPhone 11 for?
- For those who consider the cost excessive for the newer models
- For those who seek the timeless quality of an iPhone without the need for the latest technologies
- For those who want to try the world of iOS for the first time

iPhone 11 (Refurbished)
Summary
An iPhone remains an iPhone regardless of the year of manufacture. It is a timeless device, perhaps the most timeless of all when it comes to brands that manufacture phones. Everything depends on how much money you can spend and how important you consider the new technologies provided to you.
Before making any purchase, just think, knowing yourself, if you are the one who will fully exploit the new capabilities, if you always seek the best at any cost, if you don't pay attention to the latest technology, or if above all, you want a reliable phone.
The only sure thing is that whatever device you choose, you will not regret it.
