Offer sugar-free candies to children on Halloween
Make delicious and healthy sweets that do not contain sugar, to offer to the little ghosts and witches who will visit your home.
The celebration of costumes, scary stories, and excessive sugar consumption is here, but can children enjoy the magic of Halloween with healthy treats. So, instead of adding sugar, I suggest offering the following sweet options that children will love, while also reinforcing their healthy habits.
Ghost Bananas
It’s simple, quick, filling and above all spooky! You will need bananas and chocolate chips with stevia or cocoa.
Cut the bananas in half and draw a face with the chocolate chips or cocoa. Alternatively, after freezing the bananas, you could dip them in yogurt, freeze them again, and make the pieces whiter so they look more like little ghosts.
Tips
- If you can’t find chocolate chips with stevia, you can melt couverture chocolate with stevia and make the designs with the piping bag.
- Put sticks in all the banana pieces so they’re easier to eat. And who knows whether their little hands will stay clean too.
- Serve on a nice wooden platter or on a Halloween-themed plate.

- 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180 C.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, cocoa, and salt
- In a second bowl, beat the butter and coconut sugar with a mixer until fluffy, about two minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time, until incorporated and finally the vanilla.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, making sure to mix well after each addition.
- Pour the mixture into the cupcake pan and bake for 18-22 minutes.
- Once cooled, unmold and garnish with the frosting.
Ideally, place them on paper bases with a Halloween theme so we stay true to the season’s style and decorate with matching toppers.
Ingredients for sugar-free frosting
- 3 very ripe avocados
- 2/3 cup cocoa (powder)
- 2/3 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup (approximately) coconut cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until the mixture is smooth and forms a mousse.
- Put it in a piping bag and chill it in the refrigerator to set.
Tip: Include coconut sugar in your daily routine and discover its benefits. It is a natural choice, free from the overprocessing that other forms of sugar, such as granulated sugar, undergo. It is characterized by its intense coconut flavor, which will add an exotic note to every sweet creation.
In addition, it is rich in antioxidants and micronutrients such as iron and potassium, offering additional nutritional benefits. With a lower glycemic index than granulated sugar, it is a healthy choice that can enhance your lifestyle.
