Are you getting ready to refresh your space with 3D wall panels? Before placing your order, the most important step is to calculate the correct quantity you will need. This way, you will avoid unnecessary purchases, as well as the possibility of running out of pieces halfway through installation.

1. Measure the dimensions of the wall

Take a tape measure and measure the length (width) and height of the wall you want to cover, expressed in meters.

• Formula: Wall Area (m2)=Length (m)×Height (m)

• Example: If your wall is 4 meters long and 2.5 meters high, the total area is:

  4×2.5=10 m2

2. Subtract windows or doors (if any)

If the wall includes a large opening that you will not cover:

• Measure the width and height of that surface (e.g. window 1 m×1.5 m=1.5 m2).

• Subtract it from the total area of the wall (10−1.5=8.5 m2).

Note: Do not subtract small surfaces such as outlets or switches, as the panel will be cut at that point and the material that is cut is usually wasted.

3. Calculate the coverage of each panel

Check the dimensions of the 3D panel you selected. Convert centimeters (cm) to meters (divide by 100) to find how many square meters (m2) each piece covers:

• 50x50 cm panel: 0.50×0.50=0.25 m2

• 70x77 cm panel (self-adhesive foam): 0.70×0.77=0.54 m2

• 244x52 cm panel (acoustic slat/slats): 2.44×0.52=1.27 m2

4. Find the number of pieces

Divide the net area of your wall by the area covered by one panel:

Initial Number of Pieces=Wall Area/Panel Area

• Example: For a 10 m2 wall and panels measuring 50x50 cm (0.25 m2):

  0.2510=40 pieces

5. Add the necessary extra margin for possible losses (+10% to +15%)

In every installation there are cuts at the corners, at the ceiling, at the baseboards, and around outlets. In addition, if the 3D panel has a specific pattern that must align with the next one, you will need extra material.

• Simple designs / Self-adhesive: Add +10% to the quantity

• Complex geometric designs / Panels that require matching: Add +15%.

• Calculation: 40 pieces×1.10=44 pieces. Order 44 pieces to be completely covered.

Extra Tips before ordering

• Box packaging: If the panels are sold in sealed packages (e.g. a box of 10 pieces), always round the total number up to the next full box.

• Keep the leftovers: Do not throw away the leftover pieces. They may be useful in the future in case a panel gets damaged and needs replacement.
