Have you come face to face with lice? Don’t panic! Dealing with them is now quick, as long as you choose the right products for your family’s needs. See what you should pay attention to before buying:

1. Treatment or Prevention?

• Preventive: Use them daily or on days when there is an outbreak at school and during activities. They are usually sprays or lotions with essential oils (such as citronella, lavender, tea tree) that prevent lice from getting close.

• Treatment: Apply them only when you detect live lice or nits (eggs). They usually act quickly, from 5 to 15 minutes.

2. Mode of Action

• Mechanical action (Recommended): They contain ingredients such as dimethicone (dimethicone) or plant oils. These "suffocate" the louse and nit by covering their respiratory openings.

  • Advantage: Lice do not develop resistance to these products, and they are much gentler on the skin and scalp.

• Chemical action: They contain insecticides. They are used less often now, as lice have developed resistance to several of these substances.

3. Product Form

• Spray / Lotion: They provide the most even coverage at the hair roots and are considered the most effective option for treatment.

• Shampoo: Ideal for easy rinsing, especially if you use them as a complementary product after lotion treatment.
