Men's wedding attire
Invited to a wedding this summer? Read the tips we prepared, so you can be comfortable and stylish.
1. Men's Suit: the Safe Bet
Flatters every man, never goes out of style and is a timeless recipe that never loses its value. Shades of blue and beige are the most suitable for this season and you will definitely find one that you really like.
Regarding the suit line, if you want to be on trend then something in slim fit, that outlines (always in an elegant way) your silhouette is the big trend for weddings for several seasons now.
If you want to wear something more "special," you can choose a suit with a double-breasted jacket and pair it with a simple t-shirt underneath.
2. Gurkha: the popular trousers
The key features of these very elegant trousers are that they are not worn with a belt, as they are designed to fit the waist very well and neatly. Although they originated in England, they ended up becoming the hallmark of stylish Italians and then were adopted all over the world.
The charm of these trousers is that they can be worn and look equally impressive at a wedding with a shirt as well as with a simple T-shirt or a Breton top, if the wedding has a more relaxed vibe.
The length of these trousers, which ends at the ankle, is ideal as it gives you great freedom to wear whatever shoes you want, even canvas shoes if the dress code allows it.
3. Vest: the ace up your sleeve
If you want to stand out subtly with your style, a very nice idea is to invest in a vest. However you look at it, it has a charm that will hardly lead you to any style missteps.
You can wear your vest in the “traditional” way, over a shirt and tie, or wear it over a shirt with the top two buttons undone, for a cooler vibe.
In both cases, on the shirt make sure to roll up the cuff 2-3 times and pair it with slim-fit trousers that end just a little below the ankle.
If you want to add a playful note, you can combine the look with a tie with lively patterns and perhaps a pocket square in the vest lapel, if there is a corresponding pocket.
4. Shirt - trousers: the perfect style match
If you’re facing a major style dilemma or didn’t have time to look for the outfit for the summer wedding you’ve been invited to, don’t worry. Open your wardrobe and take out your favorite summer fabric trousers - the good ones - and pair them with a cool shirt, linen or cotton.
This combination is… a sure winner. To make a difference, you can choose a light-colored pair of trousers and combine it with a shirt in a pastel shade, or take a more “conservative” approach and choose a pair of trousers in an earthy or navy blue shade with a classic white crispy shirt.
5. Chino & patterns: for weddings by the sea
If the wedding you’re attending is by the sea and has a very relaxed vibe, wearing a pair of chino-style trousers, with a shirt with short sleeves or rolled-up sleeves and loafers is an ideal scenario.
If you want to be even more relaxed, you can choose a chino pair of trousers in a neutral shade and wear it with a T-shirt or a shirt with cheerful patterns.
