Ghost of Yotei: The PS5 exclusive comes with many extra accessories and bundles
Ghost of Yotei is the most important first-party studio exclusive release from Sony for 2025. Following the huge success and acclaim of Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch is preparing the sequel and, in a recent State of Play, announced many interesting details.

Ghost of Yōtei is set 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima, an independent experience taking place in rural Japan in the 1600s. The story follows a haunted, solitary mercenary named Atsu. Thirsty for revenge, she travels through the beautiful, wild landscapes of northern Japan, hunting those who killed her family many years earlier.
Sixteen years after her family’s death, Atsu’s quest across Ezo brings her to unexplored regions, searching for a gang of six outlaws, but she finds much more than revenge.
During her journey, Atsu will discover unlikely allies and deeper bonds than she could have ever imagined.
The new gameplay
Ghost of Yōtei is set in Ezo (present-day Hokkaido) in 1603, during a time of uneasy peace after decades of civil war in Japan. The heroine is Atsu, who embarks on a personal quest for revenge against the Yōtei Six - a ruthless bounty-hunting gang responsible for the murder of her family. The game emphasizes exploration of the natural environment, faster movement through flower paths, and an even more open design compared to Ghost of Tsushima. The game is enhanced with five distinct melee weapons (katana, dual blades, spear, etc.), each of which comes with its own skill tree for greater depth and tactical combat. There will now also be the ability to interrogate enemies, various bounty missions with rewards, dynamic changes in the protagonist's reputation, and special equipment customization. Once again, fans of visuals will be able to enjoy photo mode, Japanese voice acting, the Kurosawa mode with black-and-white aesthetics, and the Miike mode that makes the action more cinematic.

Collector’s editions
To mark the release and its significance for the gaming industry and PlayStation itself, Sony announced two special PS5 bundles.
- The Ghost of Yotei Gold will be released worldwide and will include the slim version of the PS5 console, a custom-designed DualSense Controller, and the game in digital format.
- A corresponding Sumi-e color edition will be available exclusively through PlayStation Direct.
Both consoles and controllers are decorated with elements such as Mount Yōtei, hand-painted icons, and Atsu’s “Ghost mask,” with details inspired by kintsugi and sumi-e techniques. The controller will also feature a figure of Atsu. In addition to the PS5 bundles, collectible faceplates for the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro will also be available, featuring the same patterns.
