The playground is for children what the café is for adults!

It is the place where they play, meet their friends or make new ones, burn off energy, and go home calm and happy!

But so that you can also feel relaxed as a mom, it’s good to have a few must-have children’s accessories with you... They will make your life easier, more pleasant, and calmer!

You’re hearing this from a mom of twins, who is at the playground with her kids almost every afternoon!

Must-have children’s vehicles

If your child is small, you can choose between hop hop animals or a ride-on walker car! My boys loved both!

Later, I got them a balance bike each, which I consider a must, so they can learn balance and strengthen their little legs.

After that, we got children’s scooters and of course children’s helmets!

This year our vehicle collection became richer with two children’s bicycles! Although we had balance bikes, for the new bicycles I preferred to leave the training wheels on, for greater safety.

What we haven’t gotten yet, but I don’t think for much longer, are children’s electric cars!

Must playground toys

Almost all playgrounds have some spots with sand or dirt... Time for shovels and buckets! Even if the clothes get messy!

For the very hot summer days, the best choice is water squirters, water guns and of course soap bubbles! 

But what I consider the most must-have playground toy, for all ages, is the old time classic ball! As long as you're not the one chasing it all the time!

Right before you leave, there’s a way to slow things down... Give your kids colorful chalks and let them create!

Must snack

"Mom, I'm hungry!" This is one of the phrases I often hear from my kids as soon as we arrive at the playground.

To avoid constant whining, I always have with me two lunch boxes with tasty treats, just like the ones I give them at school, and a kids' thermos bottle to keep their water cool.

Of course, there are times when I don't have time to prepare something... Then I choose some ready-made healthy kids' snacks!

But explain something to me... Why are my boys always hungry as soon as we leave the house?

Must-have first aid kit

Almost every time we go to the playground with my kids, we come back with a scratch or a bruise. There’s no way they won’t fall off their bikes.

At home, I have a first aid kit specially made for little Tarzans. To have peace of mind when we go out to play, I always carry a pouch with the essentials for first aid.

Sunscreen, mosquito repellent, stick for after a bite, sterile gauzes and betadine, single-dose saline, wound spray, and Hansaplast with super heroes!

Let me tell you a secret

There is an easy way for you to have a good time at the playground and do your own psychoanalysis at the same time...

Invite the moms whose kids hang out with yours at school!

While the little ones are playing, you can exchange views on the issues that concern you about parenting and raising children...

You’ll be surprised to learn that other moms have the same concerns as you and face the same or similar situations...

But the most important thing about these outings is the smile and the good mood!
