2024: The Best Games I Played on Xbox Series X This Year
To Xbox Series X also went through a 2024 full of releases, and it is perhaps indicative of where things are headed from here on for Microsoft and the gaming sector. Until a few years ago, Xbox was somewhat in the background within the company due to many factors (which there is no point in analyzing now), but after the huge investment in the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, everything has changed. With its studios working at full speed, Microsoft is looking to release more games, both for its consoles and for all systems in the market. Let’s take a look at the three games I enjoyed the most this year.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
I don’t think there’s any need to say much about the recent adventure of Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an excellent game and takes players back to an era we have forgotten. Indy appears in a form reminiscent of Harrison Ford, with the unique voice of Troy Baker. The action takes place from a first-person camera, so the player sees everything through the hero’s eyes, facing enemies and solving puzzles in this way.
Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2
Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 has evolved into an excellent game for 2024 and for the Xbox, which has gained another significant title in its library. We are several years after the release of the first game, and now the world was eagerly demanding a sequel. This has arrived and brings with it a battle with better flow and a more impressive way to face the hordes of Orks. Additionally, its world is classically vast, and generally, the title manages to be accessible even to an audience that has never engaged with the series.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
The latest (up to this year) Microsoft Flight Simulator was released, for better or worse, in the midst of a pandemic and lockdowns. People were confined to their homes, unable to travel, and generally stuck in the same environment. With that in mind, the game gave them the opportunity to go to every corner of the planet, and this year we had the chance to see the most modern version of the game, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Don’t expect dramatic differences in gameplay, but certainly more content and significantly more modernized mechanics.
