Eleni Agelopoulou - Karagianni

Eleni Angelopoulou-Karagianni is a Child Psychiatrist and a group and family psychotherapist. She studied Medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specialized in Child Psychiatry at the "Agia Sofia" Children's Hospital. She worked as a Senior Registrar in the National Health System at the Child Psychiatry Department of the Community Mental Health Center at "Evangelismos" Hospital, where, in addition to providing clinical services, she participated in the education of medical students and community awareness on mental health issues, as well as in seminars for parents and educators. She specialized in Systemic Psychotherapy under the guidance of Giorgos and Vasso Vassiliou, who were her trainers and therapists. She directs the Therapeutic and Educational Institute "Antistixi," which offers therapy for individuals, families, and groups, as well as training for mental health professionals. She is a founding member of the Hellenic Society of Child Psychiatry and the Hellenic Society of Systemic Therapy (ELESYTH) and a regular member of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA). She has participated as a trainer in postgraduate educational programs (EPIPSY, PAKIGY, KEK Chania, Aeginiteio Hospital, Hellenic Red Cross, etc.). She maintains ongoing interaction and communication with Greek families, having responded to numerous invitations for lectures and seminars in kindergartens, public and private schools, and cultural organizations. She has published articles in scientific journals and contributed to collective volumes such as "On Life and Family," "Balkans and Mental Health," "Human Communication," "Family in Crisis," and others.
