Waldemar Pfoertsch
Waldemar Pfoertsch holds the position of Professor of International Business at Pforzheim University and is a visiting professor in the Executive MBA Program at the Liautaud Graduate School of Business, University of Illinois at Chicago. He also teaches online in the International Management MBA Program at the University of Maryland, College Park, and at Steinbeis University Berlin. He has earned two master's degrees (in economics and business administration) and a doctoral degree in social sciences from the Free University of Berlin. He conducted postdoctoral research in urban planning at the Technical University of Berlin. His latest publication in German covers the fields of B2B marketing, Brand Management, and Ingredient Branding. He has also published "Living Web and Internet Strategies" and is working on "Blogs: The New Business Language." Additionally, he has published numerous articles in German, Chinese, and English on international management issues. Professor Pfoertsch has served as a consultant for companies such as Daimler Chrysler, HP, IBM, and several medium-sized enterprises in Europe, Asia, and North America in the areas of international marketing and brand management. He is a member of advisory boards for various non-profit organizations. He has held teaching positions at the University of Villingen-Schwenningen for Cooperative Education, served as a Visiting Associate Professor at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and was a Lecturer in Strategic Management at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Before his academic career, he was a Management Consultant for international consulting firms. In this role, he traveled across Europe, Asia, and North America, collaborating with companies to develop international strategies. Previously, he held positions such as Economic Advisor for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), where he worked as a government consultant for the development of internationally competitive industries. He also worked for many years in the automation industry, serving in automotive companies.
