
Alexandra Papadopoulou
Alexandra Papadopoulou graduated from the Ionian University in Corfu, where she also completed her postgraduate studies. She received her Ph.D. in May 2010, with distinction. Her dissertation, titled "Maritime Enterprises, Networks, and Institutions in the Commercial Shipping of Spetses, 1830-1870: Organization, Management, and Strategy," was completed under the supervision of Professor Tzelina Charlaipi. She was awarded a three-year scholarship from 2005 to 2008 for the research program "Greek Maritime Centers: Highlighting and Managing the Maritime Heritage of the Ionian and Aegean," as part of the "Strengthening Research Capacity in Greek Universities" initiative, funded by the European Commission and the Greek government. She has participated as an independent researcher in two other research programs concerning pre-industrial techniques and the recording and classification of municipal archives. She is involved in the research project "Thales - The Black Sea and Port Cities, 1774-1914: Development, Convergence, and Connections with the Global Economy," funded by the Greek Ministry of Education and the European Union.
