Ioannis E. Avramidis

Professor of Statics and Dynamics of Structures and Director of the Laboratory of the same name at the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a Diploma (1973) and a Doctorate (1978) from the Technical University of Berlin. He has taught at the Technical University of Berlin, Democritus University of Thrace, and the University of Essen. His teaching/research areas include Statics and Dynamics of Structural Constructions, Numerical and Computational Methods of Structural Analysis (Finite Element Method), and Earthquake-Resistant Structures. He is the author of several technical books and over 200 papers/presentations in scientific journals and conferences. His professional activities include the development and support of numerous professional computer programs for static and seismic analysis & design of structures under the corporate name COMPUTER TECHNICS (1980-1995). Concurrently and to this day, he has conducted many static/seismic studies and supervised the construction of various public and private projects. He also provides consulting services to technical offices, construction companies, and technical services of public organizations on computer-aided structural calculations and conducts expert assessments.
