Dimitris Gionis

Dimitris Gionis is a journalist. He was born in 1939 in Dimitsana, Arcadia. He moved to Athens at the age of twelve and entered the field of journalism in 1964, with a focus on cultural (or artistic) reporting. From 1964 to 1967, he worked for the newspaper "Demokratiki Allagi." Due to the junta, he lived abroad (France, Canada) from 1967 to 1973, contributing to Greek-language publications. He co-published the magazine "Tetradio" with Fontas Ladis from 1974 to 1976. He worked for "Avgi" for a year (1974-1975) and has been with "Eleftherotypia" since its inception in 1975, always in the cultural section. For seven years (1976-1983), he was involved in the reporting of the TV program "Paraskinio." In 1994, he published his narrative "Now You Will See," followed by its sequel "The Kiosk" in 1996, and completed the trilogy in 1999 with "Anyway...". In 1996, he also released "Better to the Printer than to the Psychiatrist" - 18 interviews over 30 years with Vassilis Vassilikos.
