Lampros Oikonomou

Lambros Oikonomou was born in Athens in 1976. He received a Bachelor of Engineering Honors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1997, and a Master of Science in Advanced Control in 1998 from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). He obtained a Postgraduate Specialization Certificate in 2001 from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), a degree in Economic Science in 2006 from the University of Piraeus, and completed his doctoral thesis in 2006 at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA. He worked as an Electrical Engineer at ASPROFOS S.A. (Athens, 1999), J&P Overseas Ltd. (Libya, 2000), the Hellenic Aerospace Industry (Schimatari, 2001), Athens-Piraeus Electric Railways S.A. (Athens, 2003-2004), and the Public Power Corporation S.A. (Athens, 2004-2007). He taught as an hourly-paid lecturer at the Hellenic Navy Petty Officers Academy, as well as at Vocational Training Institutes (2001-2002), the Hellenic Naval Academy (2002-2005), the Hellenic Army Academy (2003 and 2008), the Technological Educational Institute of Chalkida (2006-2007), and the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus (2007). He was also responsible for conducting laboratory exercises and experiments at the High Voltage Laboratory of NTUA (1999-2006). Since 2007, he has been teaching at the Higher School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPETE), where he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2008. He has authored over 35 articles in international scientific journals and 40 articles in international conference proceedings. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), the Economic Chamber of Greece, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in the UK, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in the USA.
