Polyxeni Giachou

Polyxeni Yachou was born in Platiana, Ilia. She studied political science at Panteion University and education at the Marasleio Pedagogical Academy. Her postgraduate studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens focused on the integration of New Technologies in Education. She works as a teacher in primary education. In her quest to be effective in her work, she seeks out and implements alternative teaching methods where literature, music, visual arts, and theater play a central role. She has occasionally published her views on the multiple benefits students gain from adopting such teaching methods, as well as her conclusions from their application in teaching practice, in educational journals. In 2008, she was honored by the Union of Greek Writers with the First Prize for Children's Poetry.
