Dimitris Triantafyllou
Dimitris Triantafyllou was born in Athens in 1966. He has been an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the Department of Mediterranean Studies at the University of the Aegean since March 2006. He is also the General Director at the International Center for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS). He holds a B.A. in "Political Science" and "History" from the University of California, Berkeley, and both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He served as a Special Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2004-2006). He was also a Senior Research Fellow at the Hellenic Observatory of the European Institute at the London School of Economics and Political Science (2003-2004), at the European Union Institute for Security Studies (Paris, 2001-2003), and at the Western European Union Institute for Security Studies (Paris, 1999-2001). From 1996 to 1999, he held the position of Deputy Director at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Southeast European and Black Sea Studies and the Director of the Xenophon Policy Texts series published by Papazisis Publishers. Additionally, he is a member of the Greek-Turkish Forum and the Board of Directors of the European Studies Institute, based in Moscow.
