Kirki Kefalea

Kirke Kefalea was born in Athens. She studied German Philology in Athens and French Philology and Comparative Literature at the University of Saarbrücken. Her doctoral dissertation, "Das Land der Griechen. Studien zur Griechenlandrezeption in der modernen europäischen Erzählliteratur" (The Land of the Greeks: Studies on the Reception of Greece in Modern European Narrative Literature), was published in 1995 by the publishing house Königshausen und Neumann. She has also published her own books and has worked on book editing and literary translations. She is an Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Theology at the University of Athens. Additionally, she published the book "Wrath of God: The Greek Versions of Bürger's 'Elenore'," Nefeli, Athens 1999. She has also translated books such as "The Greek Experience" by John Fowles (Olkos 1996) and "Ariadne or The Forgetting" by Michel Déon (Chatzinikoli 1999), among others.
