
Stayros CH. Gioltzoglou
Stavros Ch. Gioltzoglou was born in Avles, Kozani, in 1954. He graduated from Servia High School in 1972 and studied History at the Faculty of Philosophy of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1980). He pursued postgraduate studies at the Institute of Social Sciences of Ankara University (1999) and was awarded a Ph.D. in Philosophy (Department of Modern History) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2007).
He worked in high schools in the regions of Serres, Thessaloniki, and Kozani. He taught Modern Greek language, literature, history, and theater at the Universities of Ankara and Istanbul. He engaged in cultural issues and participated in two international conferences (Patras, 2000 and 2001) and one Balkan conference (Sofia, 2001), presenting his work on teaching the Modern Greek language in Turkey. He serves as the Deputy Education Coordinator at the General Consulate in Istanbul.
He has published articles on social and cultural topics in the magazine "Lychnari" of Livadero, Kozani, and edited the folklore monograph by Efi Nikou-Gioltzoglou titled "Livadero - Mokro. Our Folk Tradition." His three presentations were published in the conferences of Patras (2001 and 2002) and Sofia (2003). He also contributed to the book "Nation, State, and Politics, Studies in Modern Greek History dedicated to Yiannis S. Koliopoulos" with the article "The Repatriation of Muslims from Greece to Kemalist Turkey: Administrative, Economic, and Ideological Parameters." He is married and has two children.
