Jan Olof Rosenqvist

Jan Olof Rosenqvist (1944) is a Professor of Byzantine Studies at Uppsala University and has published books and studies related to Byzantine literature, with a particular focus on hagiography (such as "The Life of Irene Chrysovalantou," "The Hagiographical Texts on Saint Eugenios of Trebizond," "A Study of the Syntax and Observations on the Life of Saint Theodore of Sykeon," and "An Anthology of Byzantine Texts in Swedish Translation," among others). He is the editor of the scholarly series "Studia Byzantina Upsaliensia" and a member of the Royal Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities of Uppsala, as well as the Swedish Research Institutes in Athens and Istanbul.
