Dimitrios E. Raptis

Dimitrios Raptis was born in Myrofyllo, Trikala, in 1952. He studied Philology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina (1970-1974). With a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.), he completed his doctoral dissertation in the Department of Folklore at the same university, and in 1989 he was awarded a doctorate in the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Ioannina. He served as a Philology teacher in secondary education at Gymnasiums and Lyceums and is now a Lecturer in the Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Ioannina. He has participated in various scientific conferences and seminars and has published studies and articles on folklore in scientific journals and commemorative volumes. He is a member of the Hellenic Folklore Society and other scientific and cultural associations.
