Vasiliki Lazou

Vasiliki Lazou was born in 1973 in Lamia. She studied at the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Athens and at the University of Essex in the UK, where she earned a master's degree specializing in oral and comparative history. She completed her doctoral dissertation in 2010 at the Department of Political Science and History at Panteion University. She served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of History, Archaeology, and Social Anthropology at the University of Thessaly, where she worked on developing innovative interactive environments for disseminating scientific knowledge at the Museum of the City of Volos. Her research interests focus on aspects of the Civil War in urban areas, such as the administration of justice, the issue of internal refugees, public ceremonies, and the memory of the 1940s as captured in oral testimonies. She has participated in conferences and published articles on the period 1940-1949 in collective volumes, scientific journals, and the press. She has also been an editor of historical publications for the newspapers Eleftherotypia, Eleftheros Typos, Ependytis, and Documento. She is a member of the organizing and scientific committee for the events "Athens Free. October 12, 1944," and has been a long-standing member of the board of the Historical Archives Rescue Company (EDIA).
