Athanasios Michalis

Athanasios Michalis was born in 1972. He studied Linguistics at the Department of Philology of the School of Philosophy at the University of Athens and specialized in the teaching of the mother tongue at the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology of the same school. His doctoral dissertation focuses on the organization of grammar teaching in secondary education. With a scholarship from the IKT, he conducted postdoctoral research on language errors and their handling by educators. He is a member of the authoring team of the research monograph "Linguistic Competence of High School Students" and co-author of the book "Teaching Modern Greek Language in Secondary Education" (with Professor G. Spanos). He has published numerous studies related to the teaching of grammar, written expression, text comprehension, language errors, and critical literacy in scientific journals, collective volumes, and conference proceedings.
