Maxwell Bodenheim

He was born on May 26, 1892, in Hermanville, Mississippi. In addition to being a poet, he was also a prose writer. He was a well-known figure in the bohemian circles of New York, earning the title "King of the Greenwich Village Bohemians." In the 1920s, he became internationally renowned as a poet and a representative of the first "Jazz Age." Bodenheim was murdered along with his third wife on February 6, 1954, by a 25-year-old acquaintance for unknown reasons.
