
Dionysis S. Gouvias
Dionysis S. Gougias is an Associate Professor and Director of the "Laboratory of Educational & Social Research" (EESR) in the Department of "Sociology, Economics, Politics of Education and Gender Studies" at the Department of Preschool Education and Educational Design (TEPAES) of the University of the Aegean. He specializes in "Educational Policy" and "Sociology of Education." He has seventeen years of teaching experience in Higher Education and a total of twenty years of educational experience.
He has over 13 years of teaching experience in Adult Education, utilizing advanced e-learning methods, working in two postgraduate programs at TEPAES: a) "Gender and New Educational and Work Environments in the Information Society" (academic years 2003/04 - 2013/14), and b) "New Forms of Education and Learning" (academic years 2014/15 - present).
His research and writing focus primarily on Educational Policy, Inequalities in Education, and Gender Issues in Education. He has published 2 books and edited 4 others. He has supervised dozens of master's theses and is currently supervising 2 doctoral dissertations, while he has also participated in 7 doctoral dissertation supervisory committees.
He is registered in the Registry of Trainers of the Center for Gender Equality Issues (KETHI) and the National Center for Public Administration & Local Government (EKDDA), and he is a trainer for gender awareness programs conducted by these organizations.
He is a member of the Equality & Equal Opportunities Committee of the University of the Aegean, titled "AEGEAN 50:50, Balanced Participation," which is the first institutionalized committee of its kind in a Greek university (established by Rector's decision in September 2014).
