Marina Sotiropoulou - Zormpala

Marina Sotiropoulou-Zormpala studied at the School of Philosophy at the University of Athens. At the same time, she completed her music studies (piano) at the Athens Conservatory and the National Conservatory. She then pursued postgraduate studies in the Psychology of Art at the Sorbonne and Nanterre University in Paris. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology at the University of Athens. Her scientific interests focus on the impact of aesthetic activity on the social and academic development of students in Greek schools. Since 2003, she has been a lecturer at the Department of Preschool Education at the University of Crete. Her teaching work involves education through art. Her writing includes studies (international and Greek-language books, chapters, and articles) on the politics of aesthetic education, the integration of arts into teaching processes, and "aesthetic teaching." She has been honored with the Colin Marsh Pearson Australia Award. She has participated in the evaluation of music books for elementary schools under the auspices of the Pedagogical Institute. She has also curated educational theatrical performances for children.
