
Melanthia Kontopoulou
Melanthia Kontopoulou is a clinical psychologist and serves as an associate professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She holds a degree in Psychology and a master's in Clinical Psychology from the University of Geneva, as well as a DESS in Clinical Psychology from Paris V University. Initially, she worked as a psychologist in various institutions in Thessaloniki. After completing her doctoral dissertation in the Department of Philosophy, Education, and Psychology at the University of Ioannina, she pursued an academic career. Her research interests focus on the psychosocial development of children, the challenges they face, and the role of educators and families in addressing these issues. She participates in research programs and conferences. Additionally, she collaborates with parents and educators to raise awareness on mental health issues and to better manage arising problems, primarily following a psychodynamic perspective.
