
Kostas Kanakis
Kostas Kanakis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Anthropology and History at the University of the Aegean. He studied linguistics at the University of Athens and the University of Chicago, and subsequently taught at Princeton University, the University of Athens, and the University of Thessaloniki. His research lies at the intersection of sociolinguistics, pragmatics, cognitive linguistics, and anthropological linguistics, as reflected in his monograph "Introduction to Pragmatics: Cognitive and Social Aspects of Language Use" (Editions of the Twenty-First, 2007, 2nd edition 2011) and the collective volumes "Subjectification: Various Paths to Subjectivity" (with B. Cornillie and A. Athanasiadou, Mouton de Gruyter, 2006), "Language and Sexuality: (Through and) beyond Gender" (with V. Kantsa and K. Yannacopoulos, CSP, 2010).
