
Sofia Adamidou
Sophia Adamidou was born in Charavgi, Kozani. She holds a degree from the Athens Law School, the Department of Management and Economics of the Athens University of Applied Sciences, and the College of Journalism Studies. Although she is licensed to practice law, she does not pursue the profession. For 15 years, she has worked as a journalist in the arts section of Rizospastis and, in recent years, on the 902 television channel.
She has also worked as a journalist for ET1, NET, and ANT1. She has published two poetry collections: "There is a Country That Resembles You" (Delphi Publications) and "Unskilled in the Market of Time" (Epsilon Publications).
Her theatrical works include: "My Name is Sotiria" (based on the life of Sotiria Bellou), "I Ran a Red Light" inspired by the life and work of Katerina Gogou, "Sun on the Stone," "Aris" (based on the life of Aris Velouchiotis), "Jenny and Marx" (based on the correspondence of Karl and Jenny Marx), "Leave Me the Spring," among others.
Her theatrical adaptations include: "The Convict" by Konstantinos Theotokis, "Where is Your Mother, Girl?" by Dimitra Petroula, "Abyss Street, Number 0" by Menelaos Lountemis, "Of Mice and Men" by Steinbeck, "Johnny Got His Gun" by Dalton Trumbo.
For her play "Pain is a Man" (based on the life of Yannoulis Chalepas), she was awarded in the State Theater Awards competition by the Ministry of Culture (2010).
