Magdalini Kalopana
Magdalini Kalopana is a musicologist, educator, and organist. She holds an Integrated Master's Degree in Music Studies with honors (scholarship from A. Papadakis) and a Ph.D. in Musicology from the University of Athens (IKY scholarship). Among other roles, she has served as a radio producer for the Third Program (1998-2001), Cultural Affairs Advisor for the General Secretariat of the Olympic Games (2001-2003), and Musicology Consultant for the 6th Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (2003). She was also selected as a Music Advisor for the Institute of Educational Policy (2019). Kalopana is a founding member of the Editorial and Scientific Committee of the periodical publication Polyphonia (2002) and the Dimitris Dragatakis Friends Association, as well as a member of the International Musicological Society. As the responsible musicologist for the D. Dragatakis archive, she has delivered numerous presentations at international conferences (Belgrade, Thessaloniki, Athens, Leuven, Corfu, Budapest, etc.) and has published in scientific journals, shedding light on aspects of his life and highlighting the interactions of his works. Her comprehensive work on the composer's oeuvre and biography is encapsulated in the entry "Dragatakes, D." in the esteemed musicological dictionary Grove Music Online (2015), https://doi.org/10.1093/gmo/9781561592630.article.08120. With 15 years of experience in public education and as an adult educator (eTwinning, IEK), she was the editor of the publication "Music in Primary Education" (issues 12-13, 14). Her recent work on applied innovative educational programs is reflected in the publication "European Children's Songs"/ "Canzoni Europee Infantili", Athens, 2017, ISSN: 979-0-9016150-0-7.
