Stratos Kersanidis

The film critic Stratos Kersanidis was born in Thessaloniki in 1957. He studied economics in Cluj, Romania, and journalism in Thessaloniki. In 1976, he joined the youth organization Rigas Feraios and later became a member of the Communist Party of Greece (Interior). Today, he is an executive member of AKOA and a member of the municipal faction "Thessaloniki - Open City." He works as an administrative employee at the Thessaloniki Psychiatric Hospital. He has collaborated with print and electronic media as a critic and has published texts in collective cinema editions. For many years, he was the editor-in-chief of the historic magazine "Exostis" in Thessaloniki and "Subtitles," the newspaper of the Drama Festival. As a film editor for the magazine "City," he is a regular columnist for the newspaper "Thessaloniki" and a permanent contributor to the newspaper "Epochi."
