Vasileios A. Katos

Vasilis Katos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the School of Engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace, specializing in "Information and Communication Systems Security." He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master's in Business Administration (MBA), and a Ph.D. in computer systems security. He is also a certified Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI). He worked in the private sector for two years in the Netherlands as a Security Consultant for Cambridge Technology Partners (Novell, Inc.). During his tenure at the University of Portsmouth, he contributed to the organization of the Master's Program in Forensic IT in collaboration with the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, the Law School, and the Department of Psychology at the same university. He also served as a technical advisor and expert witness in a criminal court in the United Kingdom on matters of information systems security. His research interests focus on information systems security, digital forensics, and incident response.
