Zoi Georgiadou
Zoe Georgiadou was born in Athens. She is a Decorator, a graduate of K.A.T.E.E., an Architect-Engineer from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and holds a Ph.D. from the School of Architecture at NTUA. Currently, she is a full-time Professor in the Department of Interior Architecture, Decoration, and Object Design at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, where she has been serving since 1981. Her scientific work focuses on the theory of Design and Interior Architecture, emphasizing the materiality of constructions, the syntactic characteristics of space with sociological considerations, and the process of adaptive reuse of buildings with architectural cultural heritage. Her writing includes the books "Building and Decorative Materials" (2005), published by Ion Editions in Athens, and the digital book "Office Spaces: A History of Interior Architecture," which she developed as the lead author and project manager with the writing team of P. Elias, A. Klonizakis, M. Moira, D. Fragou, as part of the Kalippos Action, implemented by the Association of Greek Academic Libraries, the National Research and Technology Network, and the Special Account for Research Grants of NTUA. She has publications in International Scientific Journals and Proceedings of International and National Conferences, covering topics such as the Preservation of Cultural Heritage and Interior Architecture, Holistic Design, Tourism and Architectural Cultural Heritage, and Sociological and Aesthetic Approaches. She has coordinated and participated in research programs and is the academic head of the "Design and Interior Architecture" Research Laboratory at the School of Fine Arts of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. She served as the Dean of the School of Fine Arts at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens (2010-2014) and as the Academic Coordinator for European L.L.P. Erasmus actions, as well as a Department Director for many years. Her work as a decorator and architect-engineer has been published in industry magazines, and she has held two solo and three group art exhibitions.
