Rea Kakampoura

Rea Kakampoura is an Assistant Professor of Folklore at the Department of Primary Education at the University of Athens. Her research interests focus on the study of local associations and the management of intangible cultural heritage in the modern era, theoretical issues in folklore studies, and the intercultural teaching of folk culture in education. She teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses (specializing in "Folklore and Education") at the Department of Primary Education at the University of Athens. She is also the director of the Social Sciences Laboratory and the scientific head of the Life Narratives Archive. She has published articles and studies in scientific journals, conference proceedings, and collective volumes. She is the author of the books "Between the Urban Center and Local Communities: The Associations of the Konitsa Province in Athens" (1999) and "Life Narratives: The Biographical Approach in Contemporary Folklore Research" (2011). Along with Ch. Babounis, she co-edited the volume "Historical and Folklore Studies: Research and Educational Dimensions" (2014). She is a member of several scientific societies, including the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Folklore Society, and the National Scientific Committee of UNESCO for the protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
