THemis S. Tsipiras

Themis Steph. Tsipiras is a certified architect-engineer from the Ecole Speciale d' Architecture (E.S.A. - Paris). With postgraduate studies (D.E.A.) in Spatial Planning and Urban Development, he has been professionally involved for several years in bioclimatic architecture and ecological construction. He has attended seminars on Solar Architecture in France and Greece. He runs an office under the name "Kostas and Themis Steph. Tsipiras and Associates," with nationwide professional activity. He has traveled to various parts of the world in search of "vernacular-earth architecture," and for the past 10 years, responding to the challenge, he has participated in urgent humanitarian missions with the organization "Doctors Without Borders," addressing the technical infrastructure needs of "populations at risk." He has witnessed many significant events of our time, including, among others, the genocide in Rwanda and Burundi, the earthquakes in India and Turkey, and the Intifada in Palestine.
