Panagiota Plisi

Panagiota Plissi was born in Athens and hails from the occupied Akathou in Cyprus. She is a teacher and has worked in public elementary schools in Cyprus and Greece. She has attended courses in theater and educational drama. Inspired by her experience with an autistic individual, she has been systematically involved with autism in recent years. Her published books include "Dream Thief," Kedros 2004, which received the State Prize for Children's Literature from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus, "The Lazy City City," Kedros 2006, "I'm Not a Monster, I Tell You!" Kedros 2011 (a children's book about Asperger's Syndrome) which was awarded the State Prize for Children's Literature by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus, received a commendation from the Circle of Greek Children's Book, and was shortlisted for the "Diavazo" magazine awards, "But Dad, It's Awful!" 2014 Kedros, which also received the State Prize for Children's Literature in Cyprus and was shortlisted for the Reader's Awards. Since 2014, she has been actively involved in writing and is a presenter at seminars for educators and students. Patakis Publishers has released the first in a series of books on autism, while Anicia Publishers has released her first translated book "Non sono un mostro ti dico!" Additionally, her books "What is Mom Holding?" and "The Dad My Mom Loves" are available from Psychogios Publishers.
