Ilias D. Kouvelas

Ilias D. Kouvelas is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Patras, where he served as a Professor of Physiology and Director of the Physiology Laboratory. He received further training at University College London as a Council of Europe scholar and at the University of North Carolina. He has worked as a Researcher at Harvard University, UCSF, Oxford University, and NYU. He is a member of the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives and has served on the National Advisory Research Council. His research activities focus on the study of degenerative brain diseases, Huntington's and Parkinson's diseases, related speech disorders, and the relationship between the brain and consciousness.
